Milan are now planning to sign the “special” Chelsea ace in Tomori
WITH Chelsea looking to clear the backwoods still lurking from past transfer failures, Italian giants Milan are now reportedly planning a move in January to sign a defensive reinforcement who could quickly follow in Fikay Tomori’s footsteps.
Chelsea transfer news
After forcing several players to watch from the bench in the first half of the campaign, Chelsea must now use the January transfer window to show any struggling players the door. That should include the likes of Ben Chilwell, who went from vice-captain to little more than a Stamford Bridge pariah in a shocking fall from grace.
In desperate need of a move – especially if they are to regain their place in England in time for the 2026 World Cup – former club Leicester City have reportedly shown an interest in Chilwell’s signing this month.

He is not the only one who needs to leave. The likes of Carney Chukwuemeka must also be looking for minutes away from Stamford Bridge this month. Still only 21, the attacking midfielder represents a young player who cannot afford to waste his development in Chelsea’s reserves.
The same can be said for one of Enzo Marescaof these defenders, who passed the development stage a long time ago and is at the peak of his powers – but he still needs minutes, which Milan could still get and give him this month.
According to TEAMtalk, Milan now plans to sign Tosin Adarabioyo in January (among three Chelsea teammates) in what could quickly turn into a repeat of Tomori. The 27-year-old only arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer but has since struggled to get a regular starting spot.
Meanwhile, in Italy, Milan saw just how successful such a signing can be after benefiting from the arrival of Tomori before his recent struggles began. Now, with the former Chelsea defender potentially leaving the San Siro, Adarabioyo could arrive as a new face in the Blues’ back line.
“Special” Adarabioyo needs movement
With Trevoh Chalobah recalled from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, Adarabioyo could still find himself further down Chelsea’s pecking order than ever before, with no time to wait on Maresca’s bench. If Milan come calling, it’s a move the 27-year-old simply has to make at this stage in his career, especially given the success Tomori has achieved in Italy.
It was at the San Siro that the former Fulham defender was able to rediscover the form that resulted in considerable praise Marko Silva last season. The Fulham coach told reporters (as reported by beIN Sports): “He’s a key player for us. He’s one of the leaders in our dressing room and we need those guys to step up at the right times and he’s done that.
“We missed him a lot, we missed him because he didn’t play the first three months of the season. Tošin is a special player for us, I can’t hide that situation.”
With just over two weeks until the transfer window closes, Adarabioyo could be one to watch if Milan decide to make a move.
