Dominic Solanke suffers knee injury as Tottenham’s injury crisis worsens | Football news

Tottenham’s injury curse has struck again with Dominic Solanke having a knee problem in training.

Solanke was injured on Saturday ahead of Spurs Great Sunday trip to Everton, and it is not yet known how long he will take a break.

The Spurs striker has been consistent since his £65million arrival from Bournemouth this summer, scoring 11 goals in all competitions.

Speaking before kick-off at Goodison Park, manager Ange Postecoglou said: “Dom hit his knee in training yesterday trying to get a chance. I’m not sure to what extent.

“It’s always a blow when you lose key players and obviously in the situation we’re in it’s illustrated by the fact that we don’t really have enough depth to cover that.”

Tottenham have been plagued by injuries this term, with most of their starting line-up – goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven – out of contention.

Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma both picked up knocks against Arsenal last time out and Postecoglou said Bissouma’s problem was “not that bad, Brennan’s is probably a bit more significant”.

He added: “But we have 11 players ready and that’s enough to start the game.”
