Arsenal are in dire need of a striker after Gabriel Jesus’ strike
Gabriel Jesus is set to miss the rest of this season after rupturing his ACL, and the Brazilian’s long absence means Arteta will only have Kai Havertz at his disposal between now and the end of the season Premier League title race – if they can’t get another striker through the door.

There are even reports that Arsenal’s loan offer for Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović was rejectedwhile others claim the North Londoners are in active talks with RB Leipzig starlet Benjamin Seska, who they reportedly tried and failed to sign last summer.
Arsenal have also been urged to break the bank for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, who has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
“I would literally go with a barrel full of cash right now and drive to Newcastle and break the bank to sign Alexander Isak,” he said Piers Morgan on talkSPORT.
“£100m, £120m, £140m, £150m – I don’t care. I will find players among our 87 defensemen that we have signed in the last two years to make up for the PSR stuff.
“The way we play, the chances we create – do you know how many shots we had this week? 49 shots. Do you know how many goals we scored? One. Do you know who scored? Gabriel, central defender. If that doesn’t tell you anything, I don’t know what does.”
Arsenal are ready to pay Viktor Gyokeres’ £84m release clause
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, as reported by GiveMeSport, Arteta’s squad are ready to go all out for the Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede has picked up where he left off last season, scoring a staggering 32 goals and six assists in all competitions so far, making him a hot commodity for Europe’s elite teams looking for a proven goalscorer.
It is believed that Arsenal are not opposed to paying Gyokeres’ £84m release clausewhich would make him their second most expensive signing ever behind Rice.
The 26-year-old, a former Coventry City player, has enjoyed quite the rise to stardom. Gyokeres also possesses favorable physical attributes that could make him tailor-made for the Premier League, such as his speed.
“I don’t want to say he should test himself in the Premier League, but who is like him in the Premier League at the moment,” he said Tony Mowbray in 2023
“Who is too fast, too strong and too big, you would say that Haaland is like that, and Gyokeres in this league looks a meter faster and stronger than the players he plays against in the championship.”
