Leeds have struck gold with an “explosive” star worth more than Louie Barry
The January transfer window is open for a few more weeks and Leeds United they haven’t signed the month yet.
Daniel Farkethe side is the top Priority table as it is, after their 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road last time out, and they may not be in desperate need of reinforcements.
Despite their strong position in the second division, the Whites were related to interest to Aston Villa striker Louie Barry this month, after spending the first half of the season on loan with Stockport County in League One.
Leeds is supposedly interested in borrowing for an English youngster, a former Barcelona player, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to come to an agreement over the line.
Current market value of Louie Barry
Barry is currently rated at €1.8m (£1.5m) according to Transfermarkt and that low estimate may be because the youngster has yet to prove himself in one of England’s top two levels.
The 21-year-old starlet played on loan in League Two with Stockport for the second half of the 2023/24 season. scoring nine goals in 17 starts, before catching the eye in Ligue 1 this term.
He made a striking impression 15 goals in 23 games in the third tier of English football for the first half of this season, before being recalled by Villa this month.
However, Barry has yet to prove himself at Championship level and it would be a gamble for Leeds to bring him to Elland Road, as he may not be able to make a step forward.
Instead, Farke and Leeds could focus on a left winger who has shown his ability in the second division – Largie Ramazani – and look to develop him in the coming months.
Leeds won gold with Largie Ramazani
The Whites signed a Belgian striker from Almeria this summer and he was estimated at 5 million euros (£4.2m) from Transfermarkt at the time of the move.
Ramadani, which was once described as “explosive” player talent hunter Jacek Kulig, caught the eye in the Championship on the one hand due to an ankle injury that miss five games between October and November.
The 23-year-old left winger has accumulated three goals and one assist in six league games for Leeds before that injury lay-off, and has scored two goals and provided one assist in his last two games in all competitions.
That means Ramazani has scored five goals and provided two assists in eight starts in all competitions for the Whites, which speaks to the level of quality he is capable of providing in the final third when fit and firing.
At the time of writing (21/01/2025), Transfermarkt currently he values it at 7.5 million euros (£6.3m) and it shows that his value has soared during his time at Elland Road so far, and that he is already much more valuable than Barry.

Leeds may therefore be better off continuing to develop and utilize Ramazani’s skills on the left wing, rather than loan Barry out to develop him for Villa in the future, as they have already struck gold with the Belgian marksman.
