Art of Football in partnership with Gillette releases a football jersey inspired by Tom Grennan’s hit

Football can be unforgivably unpredictable, but there is still room for a few unexpected successes.

When a trial match was organized in a small Egyptian village for scouts to get a good look at an unstoppable local kid called Sherif, they went home impressed. However, there was another name on everyone’s lips that day; Mohamed Salah.

Much like an accidental discovery LiverpoolTom Grennan, the talismanic forward, never intended to produce the biggest hit of his career when he agreed to be the voice of Gillette’s new ad campaign in 2023. “Now,” Grennan admitted. 90 min with a wistful tone in his voice, “the Gillette song became my biggest hit.”

A Coventry City fan has revealed his reimagined version of ‘The Best a Man Can Get’ will never be released on its own. After nearly two years of unbridled success, searing itself into the brains of anyone who came across Gillette’s ad, which is so often played before and at halftime of televised football games, the song took on a new life of its own.

Gillette and Grennan have teamed up with Art of Football, a popular clothing brand that specializes in producing designs inspired by the beautiful game, to release a football jersey inspired by the Gillette song.

All profits raised from the sale of this stylish design – which is available now for an RRP of £60 – will go straight to Football Beyond Borders (FBB). This respected charitable foundation supports young people from socio-economically disadvantaged areas. These individuals are passionate about soccer but not engaged in school, so FBB’s fleet of talented employees help them graduate with the skills and grades to successfully transition into adulthood.

Grennan is a self-confessed football fanatic – turning away from his childhood roots Manchester United to support his local club, Coventry – and spending time at various professional academies in his youth.

– I am a failed soccer player – the extremely popular musician shrugged.

“The real honest truth is that I wasn’t good enough, unfortunately. I was a realist from a young age. And I knew that and I had to choose a different path and a different journey. And I’m just glad that I chose the right journey.”

That journey led to a career as a multi-platinum selling artist and Grennan now intends to use his broad platform to help those less fortunate.

“I met two of the guys involved in FBB and just to see and hear their stories and to see how well they’re doing and, and just to know what their charity is doing for young boys and girls around football and in the community, they’re making a difference,” he said. “And now I’m partnering with Gillette, I know how important it is to Gillette and to me, and that’s what this shirt will hopefully do.”
