Everton have made contact with the chairman to sign the ‘brutal’ £30,000-a-day striker
Everton they have now made contact to sign a new contract for David Moyes as they look to add more firepower to their ranks in the second half of the season.
Everton are looking for some extra firepower
Entering the January transfer window, it was clear that Everton needed attacking reinforcements. The Merseyside side scored just 15 goals in the Premier League before the departure of Sean Dyche, the second lowest side in the division.
As a result, they hover just above the relegation zone, with no player in their ranks having managed to hit the net more than three times, a feat shared by Dwight McNeil and Iliman N’Diaye.

And there are concerns about the current options to lead the line, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of contract at the end of the campaign and connecting with clubs across Europewhile the Italian media continuously suggest that Serie A clubs are desperately trying to sign Beto after struggling to make an impact at Goodison Park.
As a result, a striker is needed this winter and Everton have one he reportedly spoke to Tom Cannon about a possible return to the club he left in search of the first team.
However, that deal is considered “unlikely”, with Cannon more likely to return to the Championship as things stand after a successful loan spell at Stoke City. As a result, Everton have been forced to look elsewhere and have now been contacted about a potential loan deal until the end of the season.
Everton are closing in on Brighton for Ferguson loan
Now, a TBR football report on that Everton have made contact with Brighton over a move to sign out-of-favour forward Evan Ferguson on loan until the end of the campaign. The Republic of Ireland striker barely featured for Fabian Hurzeler in the first part of the campaign, starting just twice and scoring just once.
However, he is undoubtedly a solid player, with Football analyst EBL on X calling the 20-year-old “the next big thing at centre-forward” as he is “lightning quick” as well as having a “fierce strike on the ball”.
Examining Ferguson’s potential destinations this winter, Hurzeler refused to rule out a move to the second divisionexplaining: “This decision should be the best for the player and for the club. It’s more about what’s best for the player.”
Now, TBR report that Seagulls chairman Tony Bloom has fielded loan inquiries from a number of Premier League sides seeking his signature, but that Brighton are “yet to give the green light to any talks” involving their potential future star.
Connected
One advantage Everton could have is that Brighton are unwilling to discuss a permanent deal, instead looking for a loan deal where the Irishman could play regularly, something a move to Goodison Park would definitely offer.
Any move would require some movement at Goodison Park, as Everton already have two on loan at the club in Jack Harrison and Armando Broja, and Premier League rules do not allow them to add a third unless one of those contracts is terminated or made permanent.
