Prithvi Shaw indirectly attacks MCA with cryptic message after being dropped

Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw has once again grabbed headlines for his antics on social media. While others are busy preparing for the next round of the ongoing Ranji Trophy in 2024-25, Shaw took time out from his practice to express his frustration with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

In fact, Prithvi Shaw shared another cryptic post on Instagram after being left out of the squad for Mumbai for their next Ranji Trophy 2024-25 clash against Jammu & Kashmir, which starts on January 23. However, this time, the right-hander openly attacked the Mumbai selectors.

Prithvi Shaw’s frustration boils over again after being left out of Mumbai’s 2024-25 Ranji Trophy squad.

But the once promising talent failed to live up to expectations in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), where he managed just 197 runs in nine innings, with a top score of 49. This form forced MCA and Mumbai selectors to ignore Shaw for Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2024-25.

However, this decision did not go down well with Shaw, who took to social media to criticize Mumbai for dropping him for the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He posted an emotional message on Instagram that read: “Tell me God, what else do I have to see… If 65 innings, 3,399 runs at a 55.7 average with a strikeout rate of 126, I’m not good enough… But I’ll keep my believe in you, and I hope people continue to believe in me… because I will surely come back. Om Sai Ram.”

This did not go down well with the MCA, as an official of the state body reportedly claimed that neither Ranji Trophy captain Ajinkya Rahane nor SMAT and VHT captain Shreyas Iyer were happy with Prithvi Shaw’s attitude. He also claimed that Shaw partied until 6 a.m. during the SMAT and did not follow his fitness plan given to him.
