In six days, President Joe Biden he will leave the Oval Office, a beaten man. Not only is he responsible for his party’s loss in November, but he also presided over the slaughter of the Democrats’ most sacred cows, the ideological I-beams that prop up their progressive agenda.
DEI, the destructive mandate that exploded into a multi-billion dollar industry, has been abandoned. ESG, the reawakened global investment directive, has been dropped. “Gender-affirming care,” polite words to describe the mutilation of young bodies, is contested by people who actually care about children. Illegal and unrestricted immigration is under attack, weak law enforcement is under attack, and censorship, the ultimate weapon and sin of the left, is on the run.
Meritocracy is back, common sense prevails and we have elected a president, Donald Trump, who is on the right side of these issues. This is Joe Biden’s legacy.

Biden will go down in history as an immensely vain and pretentious man of mediocre intellect who planned to be a great president and failed to be even mediocre.
Two months into his tenure, Axios reported that he had convened a secret gathering of presidential scholars to discuss, in fact, what made presidents remarkable and how he was able to achieve those heights. He reportedly said to Doris Kearns Goodwin, “I’m not FDR, but…” Imagine the pomp.
It wasn’t just the president who had delusions of grandeur. As well as his inner circle. The West Wing supposedly embodied the “think big, go-big mentality.” The session with historians, Axios wrote, included “a discussion of how big is too big — and how fast is too fast — to break through America’s once-in-a-lifetime historical changes.” Biden hoped “to push through what could lead to a more than $5 trillion overhaul of America and massive changes in voting, immigration and inequality”; he was willing to destroy a Senate filibuster to get his way. Fortunately, many of the harmful measures enacted by this reckless and unpopular president will soon be reversed.

Democrats are still pretending that Joe Biden was a successful president. They applaud the big spending bills he signed, not because they resulted in tangible benefits for the American people, but because they brought trillions of dollars to the coffers and causes that favor Democrats. The embarrassing failures to build charging stations or expand broadband demonstrate the incompetence of his White House; piling up an incremental $8 trillion in debt, 30% of the total outstanding debt, is the bill he leaves behind.
Democrats must reckon with the consequences. Biden has not only taken the left off the political grid, he is leaving it in ruins.

Corporations are scaling back DEI programs beloved by liberals widely embraced after the George Floyd riots of 2020. Walmart, Ford, Meta, McDonald’s, Harley-Davidson, Lowe’s and John Deere are among the many companies that have either dumbed down their DEI efforts or abandoned them altogether. Some companies change the conditions. McDonald’s, for example, has rightly dropped the “E” for capital, emphasizing inclusion and diversity instead. Equality promises an equal outcome for all, a curse for those who prefer to reward talent and effort.

Corporations are partially responsible last year’s verdict of the Supreme Court against Harvard’s race-based admissions policy; companies are concerned that their DEI programs could also be considered illegal.
But they also listen to their employees, especially those who see DEI programs as reverse bias and destroying meritocracy.
At the same time, financial companies are abandoning ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) guidelines, which required investors to look not only at financial results, but also to evaluate corporations by various liberal benchmarks. Rapid growth from ESG investingwhich aligned trillions of dollars with leftist ambitions, was driven by the demands of awakened clients and claims that companies that took ESG into account would outperform those that did not. That was a lie; in years when oil prices and stocks rose, for example, ESG funds underperformed.
And the courts played their role there. Recently, a Texas judge said American Airlines violated federal law by investing in its employee pension plan based on ESG factors instead of prioritizing high returns. In 2023, the Biden administration passed a rule allowing certain types of pension plans to consider ESG values in making investment decisions under certain circumstances; Trump will reverse that order.
Meanwhile, major investment managers, including Blackrock, led by the uber-revived Larry Fink, have quietly pulled out of the Net Zero Asset Manager Initiative, while all the leading national banks have ended their commitment to the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, a similar climate initiative.
Elsewhere, 26 states have now banned or restricted what liberals call “gender-affirming care” for teenagers and children, blocking treatments that can do permanent harm. These restrictions follow similar measures in Europe, where authorities have concluded that the science does not support radical treatments for young people.
Unlimited immigrationanother holy grail of the left, is also under attack in the US and Europe. By opening our borders and allowing millions to enter our country illegally, Biden has angered the country — not only at the Democrats who have encouraged this unwanted flood of newcomers, but at the newcomers themselves. Illegal immigration makes a mockery of our rule of law, has overwhelmed the finances and infrastructure of numerous cities and states, enabled the devastating importation of the deadly fentanyl, and undermined our national security. At the top of Donald Trump’s agenda is reversing Biden’s illegal access.

Finally, the Democrats’ efforts to censor Americans (remember the Disinformation Management Committee?) have now failed. WITH CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg announcing that its social media platforms will no longer “fact check,” a euphemism for banning nonconforming expression, it’s game over. Joe Biden and others on the left are horrified; they want so much to control our discourse.
Most of the country is looking forward to the inauguration of Donald Trump, the end of Joe Biden’s failed presidency and the return of sanity. January 20th can’t come soon enough.
