Rohit Sharma bowed out of the final of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Sydney which ended up being the same Australia winning the last test match and taking over BGT after 10 years. Although in his interview with Star Sports during the match, Rohit said, “I’m not going anywhere”, the result of the series did not change the scenario much. Rohit’s future in international cricket

A report in Dainik Jagran today states that the Indian captain is unlikely to make any further appearances in international cricket after the upcoming Champions Trophy. The team will travel to England after the Champions Trophy to start the new cycle of the World Test Championship with a 5-match Test series. The report mentions that Rohit’s participation in that tour is ‘very less’.

Former Australian cricketer by the way Adam Gilchrist talked about it a while back on the podcast. “I don’t see Rohit going to England. I just felt he said he would evaluate it when he got home. I mean, the first thing he’s going to see when he gets home is a two-month-old baby whose diapers he has to change. Now it might encourage him to go to England. But I don’t see him continuing,” he said. He added, “I think he’s probably going to struggle in the Champions Trophy, and that could be… that could take him out of the game,” he added.
