Man Utd are “really interested” in signing the “fantastic” defender
Manchester United are “really interested” in signing the “fantastic” defender and inquiries have already been made, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Lots of work for Ruben Amorim
A 2-1 win over Manchester City could have been a turning point for United, but they continued their poor run of form since the win at the Etihad Stadium, having lost their last three Premier League matches. Before taking the job, Reuben Amorim was well aware of the magnitude of the task ahead of him, but what he has seen from his players so far will still be of great concern.
Amorim is tasked with rebuilding the club, and with the transfer window starting tomorrow, he will get his first chance to make his mark on the team he inherited. The Portuguese tactician is tasked with bringing in players who are comfortable working in his preferred three-at-the-back system, which he refuses to compromise on.
In such a formation, it is crucial to have wing-backs who are capable of contributing not only in defence, but also forward, and Amorim may now have identified a left-back who fits the bill. Romano took to his YouTube channel to break news of a potential Red Devils transfer in January and beyond, revealing that Miloš Kerkez is on target.
The transfer expert said: “One of the players they value, I told you several times, for the position of left back, is Miloš Kerkez. I keep saying that both Man United and Liverpool followed the player, but at the moment I have information that Liverpool always prefer to choose a different profile, a different type of player.
“At the moment, Man United is more constant in terms of enquiring, trying to understand the player’s situation, so I see Man United as a club that is really interested in Milos Kerkez.”
Romano also said that Kerkez recently changed his agent, which is otherwise a clear sign that the player wants to move to a new club in the near future.

Kerkez impressive for Bournemouth
The Hungarian looked impressive in the AFC Bournemouth shirt from the start, and the media praised him for his performance on his debut in August last year.
Last season, the 21-year-old averaged 9.85 defensive actions on 90, the most of any U23 left-back in the Premier League, showing that he is very competent in defence.
Not only that, but he was described former Middlesbrough player Robbie Mustoe as “really comfortable going forward”, suggesting he could be the perfect option for Amor at left-back.
With Luke Shaw struggling with injuries, it is clear that Amorim needs to bring in a new left-back either in January or in the summer, and Kerkez could be an excellent addition to the squad.
