Los Angeles Police detain 2 people near Kamala Harris’ California home in the Palisades fire evacuation zone
Los Angeles police responded to a call about a potential burglary at Vice President Harris’ home in Brentwood, Calif., which is inside the Palisades Fire evacuation zone early Sunday, according to local reports.
LAPD confirmed in KTLA that officers detained two people at Harris’ home while a curfew was in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time.
A call reporting a potential burglary at Harris’ property on Bundy Drive, just north of Sunset Drive, went to West Los Angeles station around 4:40 a.m., KTLA reported. Police officers went to the scene and found two men nearby.
According to KTLA , the LAPD initially took two people into custody for curfew violations, but has since released them, reporting there was no evidence proposed the crime was committed.

KNBC reported that the two men were not on Harris’s property when they were detained and that there is no evidence that they entered the vice president’s property.
One law enforcement source told KNBC they “probably had no idea where they were.”
It is unclear why the couple were near Harris’ property and whether the matter will be investigated further.
Fox News Digital reached out to the LAPD for comment early Sunday, but did not immediately hear back.

KNBC reported that Harris’ home is being guarded by the U.S. Secret Service with assistance California Highway Patrol and LAPD’s Metropolitan Division, Dignitary Protection Unit.
The Palisades Fire headed toward Brentwood on Saturday as strong winds were expected to return, complicating the response. According to CAL Fire’s latest update, the Palisades Fire is 11% contained and has burned 23,707 acres.
As of Sunday morning, the Los Angeles County medical examiner reported that the death toll from wildfires in California had risen to at least 16 people, including five who died in the Palisades fire.
