Los Angeles authorities on Monday unveiled updated maps of the devastation left behind by wildfires across the city.
The cards are focused on influence Eaton and Pacific Palisades fires, the two largest and least contained flames. The maps show destruction by structure, with red icons indicating a structure that is at least 50% destroyed, while orange, yellow and green indicate minor damage, and black indicating no damage at all.
In total, the fire in Eaton affected 885 buildings, of which 674 were more than half destroyed, while 157 escaped damage completely. The Pacific Palisades fire engulfed 664 structures, with 485 more than half destroyed and only 127 escaping damage.
“Field damage inspections may be ongoing and are subject to change as information is gathered and verified. Icons on the map indicate the current known status of the structure,” city officials noted.
More than 12,000 homes and businesses have burned in the wildfires, and damage assessments are still ongoing in the affected areas.

Last week, Cal Fire reported that the Palisades and Eaton fires were among the top five most destructive in California history.
At least 24 people have died in the fires, although recovery efforts are underway.
Both the Eaton and Palisades fires broke out on Tuesday of last week and have combined to burn nearly 40,000 acres so far. The Eaton fire, centered around Pasadena, caused 16 deaths, Los Angeles County Medical Examiner he says. The Palisades fire claimed eight more lives, and both fires were largely out of control as of Monday morning.

Fire authorities they clarified that not all “structures” are listed on the home or business map. Things like sheds and even some vehicles are said to be included in the “structures”.
