The review meeting, held in Mumbai on Saturday, raised concerns over the credentials of assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, particularly in the context of Test cricket.

While bowling coach Morne Morkel has won praise for his experience in Test cricket, concerns have grown over his lack of technical expertise in other areas. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate have been singled out as problem areas.
“Apart from bowling coach Morne Morkel, who comes in as a Test player, there is a growing perception within the squad that assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate lack coaching expertise, particularly when it comes to Test cricket,” the report said.
India’s recent struggles under Gambhir
