‘We save them’: Scientists build ‘Noah’s Ark’ for endangered corals
Coral reefs are considered one of the most vital ecosystems on the planet. Although they cover only 0.2 percent of the ocean, reefs are home to a quarter of marine biodiversity. Scientists warn they could disappear in as little as a decade, unless we quickly slow the rate of global warming. In Monaco, a team of scientists decided to build a “Noah’s Ark” for coral reefs, hoping to collect and preserve every species known to mankind before it’s too late. Our Down to Earth team reports.
