The Liverpool midfielder has been linked with a shock exit in January after missing out on minutes
Apparently, they are clubs from the Premier League and the Bundesliga tracking Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is in the middle of his fight for playing time under Arne Slot.
The 21-year-old missed two months of the season with a broken foot but failed to hold down a meaningful role upon his return. In his seven Premier League appearances so far this year, Elliott has managed just 43 minutes.
Sky Sports News State Elliott’s supporting role caught the eye across Europe. Brighton & Hove Albion and Borussia Dortmund have been named as suitors, but there are thought to be a number of sides across the continent willing to monitor developments in his future.
Asked about his feelings about Elliott, Slott insisted he remains a big fan of the midfielder but has struggled to find minutes for him due to Liverpoolhis small margin of victory this season, which he claimed makes it harder for him to turn to players who aren’t the sharpest.
“He is a talented player,” Slot emphasized. “He’s been that for us for so long. He’s been coming on a lot in the last few weeks and getting his minutes there, but as it is for him, as it is for everyone else, they’re in competition with a lot of other good players like.
“He was very unlucky to win after two games injuredhe was out for a long time. And from what I’ve seen so far, with almost all our players who have been out for a long time, in this league, at this pace, at this intensity and quality that we have, other teams have, it’s not that easy to come back and immediately be at its best.
“I see it not only with Harvey, I see it with almost all the other players who have been out for five, six, seven or eight weeks. That’s the balance we have to find, giving them playing time to get back to their best level, but they can still win every game.
“Our margins are consistently small. If you’re 5-0, you can give players who are out for quite a long time half an hour or half an hour or even longer. But that’s not the way we win, or have won, our games so far. That’s also the reason why, if we’re unlucky once or twice, we can draw or lose the game.”
