WBO orders usyk for defense of boxing titles in a heavyweight category against Parker | Boxing news

The World Boxing Organization was given by Oleksandra Usyku for a month to achieve a contract for the fight against Joseph Parker.
The heavyweight champion of Oleksandra Usyku was ordered to start negotiations for the defense of his World Boxer Organization (WBO) heavy title against Joseph Parker.
The order could end the hopes of British fighter Daniel Dubois in a rematch with Ukrainian.
WBO announced on Thursday that the USYK, which also holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxer Association’s (WBA) belts (WBA), has 30 days to “reach the conditions” for a compulsory defense against Parker in Novi Zealand or the governing body will invite offers for handbags.
Last month, Parker defended his temporary WBO title in Riyadh in Riyadh in Martin Bakole’s second round, late replacement after Dubois withdrew due to illness.
Instead of raising his fight against Parker, the champion of the International Boxer Federation (IBF) Dubois hoped to return the conflict with Usyk, who defeated the British with a knockout in the ninth round in August 2023.
Dubois, 27, was thought to be in conversation with Usyk in the fight that would see all four major in the heavyweight title, but the announcement of WBO complicated a picture in a sport where a lack of a global control body means that there are often more world champions in the same weight.
Usyk defeated British Tyson Fury in May 2024 to become the first undisputed World heavyweight champion in almost 25 years. But he left the IBF belt before the rematch, with Dubois elevated to a full champion.
The former unnoticed world champion in the usyk cruiser, 38, extended his perfect professional record at 23 victories in as many points, with 14 stops, after defeating Fury in December in December, which meant he kept the Unified WBC, WBA and WBA Championship.
While Usyk spoke immediately after declaring a winner with a unanimous decision, Dubois entered the ring and interrupted an interview with a gold medal in London in 2012 to demand a fight.
But it seems that Parker, who held the WBO title from 2016 to 2018 and is on a winning series of six fights since he lost to Joe Joyce 2022, overcame Dubois as the next candidate who faced USYk.
In February, Usyk said he was planning to have two more fights before retirement.
