Viktor Hovland sealed his first victory from the 2023 tour championship with the amazing victory of returning to Valspar Championship, exhausting Justin Thomas
The Norwegian, who missed the incision at his previous three tournaments, cut birds on three of his last five holes to shoot at four-legged 67 and sealed a famous victory in the Copperhead track Innisbrook Resort.
“I hit a lot of disgusting shots, but they just happened where I looked,” Hovland joked.
He finished 11-and-winning to win a stroke over Justin Thomas, after three shots from a tempo on the back before heading for a savage race.
Jacob Bridgeman, who led at the Midway Mark of the Tournament, posted 69 and was third in nine.
Bud Cauley (66), Billy Horschel (67) and Japanese Ryo Hisatsune (68) tied to fourth place in eight below. Davis Riley, 69, was seventh in the seventh below.
