Trump warns that Iran will face ‘heavy’ consequences unless Houthi attacks do not stop
US President Donald Trump warned Iran that he would face the “terrible” consequences if the Ymenhis continued to attack international shipbuilding.
He said that Iranian leadership would now look as if the trigger for “every shot that had been shot by Houthis,” which Tehran has long supported.
Trump’s threat came after Houthis aimed at the US aircraft carrier in the Red Sea after being hit in Yemen by which her Ministry of Health said at least 53 people were killed.
Pentagon said he had launched fresh attacks on 30 targets in Yemen during the attack on Saturday, the largest American military operation in the Middle East since Trump returned to the White House.
Trump posted on his social platform of the truth on Monday: “Every shot will be observed from this point from this moment, as if it were a shot of weapons and leadership of Iran.
“Iran will also be responsible and suffer the consequences, and these consequences will be terrible!”
The US president accused Tehran of supplying a group with funding, weapons and intelligence, which Tehran denies.
In a letter to the UN Security Council on Monday, the Iranian UN envoy denied that he violated the Embargo UN Yemen and said he was not involved in any destabilizing activities in the region.
Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani has been accused of “unfounded accusations” against Iran, said Reuters news agency.
On Monday, Pentagon officials said that escalating American attacks on Yemen were aimed at a wider range of goals from strikes approved by former President Joe Biden.
Lieutenant Alex Grynkewich said drone manufacturers Houthhi were among the target.
He added that there were no “credible indications of any civilian victim.”
Washington said some key Houthhi were the figures among the dead, but the group did not confirm it.
“This is not an endless offensive,” said Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, adding that now they are not looking for a change in the regime and that he will continue to use an irresistible force until his goals are filled.
“This campaign will be ruthless to degrade their abilities and open shipbags in the region and defend our homeland,” he added.
On Sunday morning, Houthis launched unmanned aircraft and rockets aimed at the USS Harry aircraft carrier with Truman in the Red Sea.
The US aircraft broke up about 11 drones, an American official told US partner BBC CBS.
Houthis also launched a ballistic rocket that collapsed into the water, not from the USS Harry from Truman, the official added.
Houthis said at least five children were among 53 people killed in air attacks in the US in the areas of Yemen Al Jaouf and Hudaydah, the victims that BBC did not independently confirm.
The US also launched air attacks against the group on Saturday and Sunday.
Houthis said he would continue to target the Red Sea delivery until Israel raised his gauze blockade.
Houthi claimed – often false – to target only ships associated with Israel, USA or the UK.
Since November 2023, Houthis have been aiming for dozens of merchant vessels with missiles, drones and small attacks of a ship in the Red Sea and the Bay of Aden.
They sank two vessels, seized a third and killed four crew members.
The rebel group controls Sana and northwest of Yemen, but this is not an internationally recognized government government.
