Donald Trump said he would progress with the imposed tariffs of 25 per all imports from Canada and Mexico from Tuesday, adding that there is no “place” for the last minute negotiations.
“Tariffs, you know, all are set,” Trump said in an oval office on Monday afternoon. “They take effect tomorrow.”
Last month, Trump issued an executive command, applying additional 25 percent to all imports from Canada and Mexico, with the exception of Canadian oil and energy products, which will face a 10 -pointed levy.
Canada is by far the biggest supplier of foreign oil in the US, which makes up about 60 percent of its imports of raw oil.
For days later, he delayed the implementation of the tariff until March 4, after an angry last-minute diplomacy between Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
On Monday, Trump said his tariffs would be “very exciting for car companies.”
