MacKenzie’s Tournament MVP Championship and Conference Championship followed after a seasonal altercation between the two teams, which was in the center. Mackenzie was a player of the year of the 2023 conference.
The quarrel resulted suspension CBC main coach Taylor Clagett, and CBC lost the right to host the Pacwest Championship, as Saturday’s game was supposed to be played on CBC’s home ground. Instead, because of the sanctions put on CBC due to the allegation of Mackenzie, the game was played at Capilano University.
Feud started during the October 25th match between two teams, which won 69-56 after Mackenzie scored 19 points in the game. Five days after that game of October 30, the Trans athlete posted an Instagram video arguing that Clagett “scored one of our athletic staff and went on a tirade on how I should not be allowed to play.”
Mackenzie claimed that the CBC player also deliberately left her to the ground.
“Two manuals taken to the ground number 13 without playing on the ball in sight, and then one can see the main Clagett coach how he applauds in support,” the Trans athlete said.
In response, Clagett published his own Instagram statement, claiming that Mackenzie’s statements were incorrect.
“My intention has nothing to do with specific athletes, but instead, the safety of athletes in their sport,” Claggett wrote.
He then filed a formal complaint with Pacwst, encouraging an investigation against VIU. When two teams were to be played again in two games on January 10 and January 11, Viu refused to play because of the alleged incident from their first meetings.
“Int heritage, harassment and discrimination have no place in athletics,” he said in a statement to Fox News Digital in January regarding the decision not to play. “Viu fully supports our students and confirms the right of all athletes to compete in the environment, which prioritize their safety and well-being.”
Viu even asked the two of them not counting as losses in the team records, which was approved by Pacwest.
The CBC made a statement to Fox News Digital that weekend stating: “Charges that CBC, his coaches, players and fans are a security threat simply untrue and mis -informed.”
The CBC players then condemned Mackenzie in a letter sent to Fox News Digital.

CBC players blamed Mackenzie for “personal attacks”, “defamation comments” and even “comments that encourage violence” against their coach.
“Videos and letters published by members of the Women’s Basketball Team ViU for the last three months have directly violated more rules listed in Article 17.2 Manuals. Different posts include” personal attacks “,” defamation comments “,” lack of respect for Pacwest “and brought to” the Konmentation that focused on. “
“Any and all the allegations made by players Viu -A in connection with our team and coach should have been directly communicated to Pacwest officials, they did not need to be transmitted publicly to social media.”
Pacwest then suspended Clagett in early February, and CBC lost the right to host Pacwest championship after the conference investigation.
