The killed leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, says the US
The senior leader of the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Syria was killed in the operation of members of the Iraqi national intelligence, along with the coalition forces led by the United States, said the Iraqi Prime Minister.
Abdallah Makki Makki al-Rif, also known as Abu Khadi, “was considered one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world,” said Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
US President Donald Trump said “It was released by our fearless warriors.”
The US Central Command (Center) posted on X what seemed like a video of a strike, which he said was carried out in the Iraqi West Al Anbar province on Thursday.
Abdallah Makki Makki al-Rifa was the head of the highest decisions of IS and was responsible for the operations, logistics and planning conducted globally, the US Central Command said.
He also directed a large part of the finance for the Global Group organization, Centerca added.
By publishing on his social platform of truth, President Trump said: “His poor life was abolished, together with the other member of ISIS, in coordination with the Iraqi government and the Kurdish regional government. Peace through strength!”
Abdallah Makki Makki al-Rifa was found dead along with other operational, he said to Center.
“Both terrorists wore unexploded” suicide vests “and had more weapons,” he added.
The center and Iraqi forces were able to identify him through the DNA match from the DNA collected on the previous raid where he “fled closely,” he added.
Gen Michael Erik Kurilla said: “Abu Khadijah was one of the most important members throughout the global organization.
“We will continue to kill terrorists and dismantle their organizations that threaten our homeland and us, the Allied and Partnership Staff in the Region and beyond.”
