Compatibility and availability

It is important to note that Genmoji is only available on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models or devices from iPhone 16 line. This feature is part of the iOS 18.2 update that Apple recently released.

First of all, let’s update your software to iOS 18.2 or later:

• Open settings.
• Touch General.
• Choose Software update.

How to use Genmoji

Using Genmoji is surprisingly easy:

• Open it Messaging app.
• The beginning of a conversation.
• Touch emoticon icon in the lower left corner of the keyboard.
• Then tap emoticon icon next to the text search bar.
• In the search box, describe Genmoji you want to create, like a cat with a top hat.
• Wait for the AI generate your custom emojis.
• Swipe through the options and choose your favorite.
• Touch “Add” to insert your new emoji in your message. Then tap up arrow.

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?

• After seeing the results of your initial description, you can change your Genmoji simply by changing description on the new Genmoji screen.

How to create a Genmoji using a person’s photo

To create a Genmoji using a person’s photo from your gallery, follow these steps:

Make sure to tag photos

First, make sure the person you want to use is tagged in your Photos app. This is key to creating Genmoji. You can only use people who are already in your contacts. It works best with clear, front-facing photos where the person’s face is easily visible.

• Open Messages.
• Touch emoji keyboard.
• Touch Genmoji creation icon in the upper right corner of the keyboard.

Choose a person

• In the field “Describe Genmoji” write the person’s name exactly as they are labeled in your photo library.
• Touch “Choose a person.”
• Choose person from your identified photo contacts.
• Touch Done.

Customize Genmoji

• Add a descriptive contextlike “Danny is celebrating his 35th birthday.”
• Swipe through generated options find the best representation.
• you can ennoble Genmoji by modifying the description, such as changing “Danny on his birthday” to “Danny wearing a party hat.”
• By tapping More (or three horizontal dots) next to Genmoji you can copy, share, save on stickers and add a title.
