The Ismamic Cooperation Organization rejects Trump’s Gaza plan

On Friday, the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) adopted the Arab League counterprotage to the controversial plan of Donald Trump to forcibly expel Gazana out of Gaza’s belt. The decision of the 57-member group followed during an emergency meeting in Jedda, Saudi Arabia, just three days after the Arab league initially ratified a plan on the Cairo Summit. However, counterprotage may be largely symbolically, because both Israel and the United States have already rejected it, despite the fact that it does not involve any role for Hamas. The American State Department simply stated that the proposal did not meet Washington’s expectations, although he described the US envoy in the Middle East as the “first step of good faith” from Egypt.
