Houlihan’s sentence eventually cost a trip to Paris at the Olympic Games and now has to work twice as much as she can prepare for a potential appearance in Los Angeles 2028.
“Getting used to trying to create a new normal,” Houlihan said. “Running was part of my life since I was five, so who did I do without this? I didn’t know.
The 32-year-old family from Iowa said she hoped her success could lead to a sponsors. The outdoor World Cup is set for September.
“I got a point where I was like,” I don’t want to give up because I feel like I will always wonder what it might be, “she said.” And then I feel like I still have to prove. I feel like it is best to come for myself and I wanted to see it and not let someone else decide. “

Houlihan competed again in January to compete again, and last month she returned to the track in Razorback invitational In Arkansas. She won in a closed race at 3,000 meters.
