In the United States, Mexico extradited 29 alleged drugs of drugs, and also captured high gang leaders.
Those extradited include the infamous drug Lord Rafael Caro Quintero, who was now sought by the murder of an American agent 40 years ago.
This move – which is considered to be the greatest extradition in the history of Mexico – is considered a big step in bilateral security relationships between the two countries.
This comes after US President Donald Trump threatened earlier this year that he would impose tariffs to import from Mexico, accusing him of not dealing with drug trade and mass migrations.
“As President Trump clearly said, the cartels are terrorist groups, and this Ministry of Justice is dedicated to destroying cartels and transnational gangs,” said U.S. State Attorney Pam Bondi on Thursday night.
“We will persecute these criminals to the most extent the law in honor of the brave agents of law enforcement of a career – in some cases, given their lives – to protect innocent people from whip of violent cartels,” she added.
Responding to the extradition of Caro Quintero, Acting Administrator Derek Maltz, welcomed the move as the “victory for the Camaren family.”
He added: “Today he sends a message to every cartel leader, every trade competition, every criminal poisoning of our communities: you will be responsible.
“No matter how long it took, no matter how far they ran, justice will find you.”
Quintero is expected to appear in New York court on Friday.
Other fugitives have included the founders of the brutal cartel Zetas – Miguel Angel Treviño and his brother Omar Trevisto.
Known as Z-40 and Z-42, two men were guided in fear of organizing years before his eventual death in the mid-2010s.
Miguel Treviño, who was Arrested by Mexican marines in July 2013It is sought on both sides of the massacre border and running globally.
Omar Trevisto – who was sought in the USA -ui Mexico on charges for drug trade, abduction and murder – was Trapped by security forces in Monterrey in March 2015.
Their criminal empire included a wide range of illegal activities, including smuggling cocaine, trafficking in humans, extortion, starting weapons and abductions.
Police at the Webb District in Texas confirmed the extradition of the brothers and warned Americans to go to Mexico for fear of retaliation.
