Rory Mcilroy gives YouTube Golf’s cold shoulder: “I enjoy something else”

Professional northern Irish golfer Rory Mcilroy is preparing to compete in the upcoming player championship. At a press conference ahead of the tournament, McIlroy revealed that he was not particularly interested in YouTube Golf.
McIlroy became a professional in 2007 and has since given his name to Golf. He won 27 PGA Tour events and 18 events on a European tour. He also became winning in four major championships, including US Open and PGA Championship. In 2023, Northern Irish Golfer was number 1 on the official world golf ladder before Scottie Scheffler lowered him to number 2.
When Asked how much attention he had paid for YouTube Golf, McIlroy replied that his eyes had been set to something else.
“Yes, I’m not of that generation, I’d rather watch pure competitive, I’d rather watch this [Players Championship] Saturday and Sunday than watch YouTube Golf. No, I mean, look, I’m happy about people who enjoy it, but I enjoy something else, “said Rory Mcilroy.
Some fans responded to Northern Irish Golfer’s comment negatively, saying that he could be nicer in his own words and that he should show support for how much YouTube grows a golf game. On the other hand, other fans supported Rory Mcilroysaying that he only cite his opinions and should not be in love with it.
Significant is that the Creator Classic event was held at TPC Sawgrass before the first round of players’ championship. It aims to promote and support YouTube Golf, showing some of the biggest creators of the golf contents in the tournament.
Last year, Classic’s inaugural Creator generated over 2.7 million views on YouTube. Within four weeks, the event was collected by an engagement of almost 60 million fans on several platforms.
