New Fighter Training and Development Facility
A brand new building of Kronk gym is underway, with details that will be published soon. This new gym will serve as the center for young fighters, ambitious champions and world -class professionals, carrying forward the tradition of excellence that defined Kronk.
“Like thousands of other children, Emanuel Steward was like a father for me, and now he would be able to help transmit his inheritance in the back of the ring, is a huge honor and responsibility,” said John Lepak, a managing partner and a member of the original Krink gym.
Hilmer Kenty, Kronk’s first champion, and now Ambassador Kronk, added: “Emanuel Steward and Kronk played such an important role, not only in my life, but in the lives of so many detroitars.
Kronk’s influence of the community and the global vision
Kronk is not just in the training of future champions. The new property is dedicated to the mentoring of young people, the programs in the community and the spread of Kronk’s influence outside boxing.
“My father dedicated his life to Detroit, Kronk gym, and shaping the boxing world, touching the lives of many. I am very impressed with the vision and the goals of the new team to expand the legacy built by my father. He would be incredibly proud of their efforts,” said Sylvia Steward-Williams, a daughter.
Paul Bhatti, the Krinka CEO, summed him up perfectly:
