Former New English patriots No. 1 Kenneth Sims’s total selection died on Friday at the age of 65.
Sims fought against the disease and died in a dream, 247sports.
Sims, who was the first choice in the 1982 NFL draft, played for eight years in NFL, all with the Patriots. Through 74 career games, Sims recorded 17 bags.

Through his NFL careerSims wore a number of injuries. The only season in which he played in every game was in 1984.
The defensive region was subjected to surgery back in 1987, which limited it to 12 games. Next season, in 1988, he broke his Achilles tendon and played in just one game.
Sims played 15 games in 1989 before his knee injury left him for his last game and then retired.

When SIMS was drawn up in 1982, it became the third Texas Longhorn be selected with the upper choice.
After SIMS supported Future Pro Football Hall of Famers Steve McMichael and Bill Acker during his second year in Texas, he broke out on stage in his junior season. SIMS recorded 131 struggles and was declared a conference on All-Southwest and all-American.
As older, SIMS was named the ALL-SouthWest and Sve-American conference, except it was the first Texas Longhorn to ever win the Lombardi Award.

The Lombarda Award is awarded to a football midfielder who best shows the legendary NFL coach Vince Lombardi, focusing on character, discipline and excellence.
Also, in his senior year, SIMS was the best defensive voter for Heisman Trophy after helping Texas in the 10-1-1 record and Cotton Bowl’s 1982 victory.
During his collegial career, SIMS had 322 fights, 29 bags, 50 fights for loss, 15 forced fumars, seven recovery and three blocked blows.
