New Jersey Devils: Jack Hughes suffers a creepy shoulder injury


New Jersey Devils Star Jack Hughes sustained a brutal shoulder injury on Sunday night against Vegas Golden Knights.

The devils asked to return at least one goal of Golden knights Late in the third period. Nico Hischier shot and Hughes couldn’t bypass the jump. Hughes then collided with the Golden Knights star Jack Eichel and crashed strongly to the plates.

Hughes slid off his ice as his right hand seemed to him.

“Obviously it didn’t look good,” said devil’s head coach Sheldon Keefe after the game. “We will have to take the time to know in its entirety. It’s hard to see, especially a similar game he called earlier during that period.”

Luke Hughes, Jack’s brother, was emotional when he entered the locker room as the media gathered to perform interviews after the game, according to Associated Press.

Jack Hughes has been the best devil player since joining the main list. He led the devils with 27 goals and 70 points in the team.

New Jersey lost to Vegas, 2-0. The devils fell at 33-23-6 a year and in third place in City division.

The devils have only been in the playoffs twice since they lost in 2012 in the finals of Stanley Cup in Los Angeles Kings.
