Police Connecticuta found a girl from New Haven – now a woman – which disappeared 25 years ago, When she was only two years old.
Andrea Reyes, 27, was abducted In October 1999, by her non-Christian, biological mother Rosa Tenorio, who brought her to Mexico.
“Thank you for sharing you in our joy in finding our daughter Andrea. After 25 years, God responded to our prayers and blessed us with a chance to find out again,” said Andrea’s stepmother in an emotional statement during a news conference at New Haven on March 12. “We are aware that this reacting will have challenges, however, we are convinced that God builds the way in front of us and takes His steps.”
Andrea’s father has embarked on several trips to Mexico over the years to find his daughter, police said during a press conference.

Andrea’s father and stepmother thanked the police and the National Center for Missing and Use Children (NCMEC). Her stepmother also said that DNA technology helped to implement the law to develop the leadership that eventually led them to Andre, who currently lives in Mexico.
She added that “they do not lose sight of those families waiting for their loved ones to be found.”
“We keep you in our prayers, hoping for the day that you can reunite with your loved ones,” said Andrean Maceh. “As we establish new relationships during these days and months, we seek your prayers and respect for our privacy. We hope that our good news will one day be your good news.”

In 2023. Ncmec received 1,185 cases of family abduction, and 59% of all allocated amber warnings were for family abductions.

“One of the biggest misconceptions about the cases of family abduction is that the children are safe and ‘do not miss’ because they are with the parent,” Angelina Hartmann, director of communication at NCMEC, said in a statement. “In NCMEC, we know that there are a lot of emotions behind these cases, and these scenarios can be unpredictable and dangerous.
The arrest warrant for tenorio remains active.
