Man UTD more interested in building a new stadium than a competitive team, says Paul Merson | Football news

Manchester United is more interested in building a top stadium than in the production of a competitive football team that causes silver accessories, according to Paul Merson.
AND Sky Sports Pundit responded to news revealed this week about the intention of the club to leave Old Trafford and move to a new 100,000 seat stadiumcalling the decision “pathetic”.
MAN UTD co -owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said the goal is to create a “iconic football stadium”, but Merson believes that focus should be on the field deficiencies, with the United 14. In the Premier League – closer to Bott Club Southampton Bott, than Liverpool leader.
“I have no interest, I think it’s pathetic. If I’m a Man UTD fan, I’d throw myself,” Merson said.
“Old Trafford is one of the biggest premier league stadiums. I can understand if it’s Chelsea – they need a higher capacity stadium to continue living with great boys.
“When Manchester United, who has a huge stadium, why should you need another stadium? They need new players, they need a team. That’s what they can’t solve.
“I hear that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will go ‘England will be able to play here’. Don’t worry about the national team, worry about Man United and put them in the top six. I am sent to what I see.”
United, which has debt of over £ 1 billion, has yet to be confirmed that the construction of a new stadium will be funded.
Ratcliffe said earlier this week that Manchester United would run out of money by Christmas that he had not made a number of recent cost reductions.
“It’s fascinating,” Merson continued. “It’s amazing what’s going on in that club.
“Old Trafford already holds 70,000, they don’t need a new stadium – they just need Polyfilla some of those holes to which the rain is coming. Take care of yourself, not England or anyone else.”
Man UTD won the Premier League 28 games this season – a 32 percent win ratio.
This includes five in the last 17 league matches under Ruben Amorim, after replacing the discharged Erik Ten Hag as a manager, a string in which they suffered eight defeats.
“I hope the real man,” Merson added, when asked if he could change the club’s wealth in the long run.
“He is a young, enthusiastic coach who did great in Portugal. He interrupted the dominance of Benfica-Porto there. It would be like someone going to the hearts or Hibs and stopping the dominance of Celtic Rangers in Scotland.
“He did great, so I hope he will correct it, but they need players to work in their system. I think they are a million miles away.
“If someone had told me” the top six next season, “I would say” no chance “. They have more interest in building a stadium than to return the team to the Champions League.”
