Kevin Bacona ‘The worst nightmare’ o ‘Footloose’

Kevin Bacon The “worst nightmare” includes one of his most famous film roles.
While thinking about his career during a panel in the south at the southwestern film festival in Austin, Texas, the 66-year-old actor spoke about the movie “Footloose”, a 1984 film, which put him on the map and how he is still chased by an iconic title song from the music drama for more than 40 years.
“My worst night night must be at the wedding, and DJ puts music, and the song comes and suddenly the wedding becomes about me, and people form a circle around me and become a dressed monkey,” Bacon explained. “So, I went to DJs and said,” Please don’t play that song. “Not that I don’t like the song.”
The song “Footloose” was written and recorded by Kenny Loggins for the movie, playing in the last scene of the film and continued to get the best original nomination for the song at the Academy awards 1985.

The movie plays Bacon as Ren McCormack, a teenager who goes from Chicago to a small town of Central West, where he is shocked to find out that dance and rock music have become illegal. Although “Footloose” contains many dance scenes, Bacon admits that “he was not a dressed dancer” that enters him.
“Growing up in Philly, I loved to dance. In [New York]I would go Studio 54 And dance all night alone – and that was when I was a waiter. I’ve always loved it, “he told SXSW crowds.

Bacon continued, “But when they sent me a script, I didn’t know it was a dance movie. They talked about choreographers [and] I was like, ‘I don’t really need a choreographer. You can only turn on music, and I can only dance and have fun with her. “And they were like,” Ah – on Na, you don’t know what you’re going into. “”
In April 2024. Bacon returned to the Utah high school where the movie was shot, after the social media campaign started by Payson High students. The campaign included videos about students who put scenes from the movie again and post them online with a hashtag #bacontopayson.
