Jessica Simpson returned to her musical roots and throws some light to her “broken” heart from her divided with Eric Johnson.
Simpson performed on Thursday at the Reunion Music Festival in Spicewood, Texas, which was her first appearance in 15 years. She announced that the “very single lady” was separated from Johnson in January.
Simpson discussed his upcoming album “Nashville Canyon, pt. 1” with the audience before she said, “I was out there in Nashville and I opened my heart,” according to the words Page Six.

“I was in a very intuitive state and asked some very personal questions at the domestic front and I found that my world was facing upside down and that life was very different now. I am a very single lady,” she continued.

Simpson shared that opening your heart can leave you in a vulnerable place.

“You know, when we open our hearts, sometimes we are vulnerable and it just breaks and may sometimes forget that we have been broken for a very long time,” she said.
Simpson admitted that music creation was a great way to heal.
“When we meet, when we write, when we sing, when we connect with ourselves, we find all the answers,” she said before announcing her new song “Leave”, as “A Heart, Angry Song.”

The lyrics of the fiery song seemingly invite her ex.
“What we had was magic / now you did it tragic / giving her what you gave me / now the good you drank empty,” Simpson sings.
In January, the actress and singer split that the former couple “lives separately”, but did not reveal any details about the time lane of their separation.
“Eric and I live separately by moving in a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson said in a statement People magazine.

Simpson and Johnson tied a 2014 knot and share daughters Maxwell and Birdie and Son Ace.
Johnson was spotted without his wedding ring in November, as Simpson started working on the return of music.
In December, Simpson shared a glamorous photo of himself sitting next to a musical equipment while wearing a white romper with black fish Midriff paired with appropriate black fish and platforms.

She also wore her long blond hair in Brigitte Bardot inspired half updo with similar retro bold eyes and bare lips.

“I can’t wait to hear the sound of your soul,” Simpson wrote in the inscription.
