Jean Philippe Mateta Injury: Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish calls Liam Roberts Challenge ‘the most modern I have ever seen’ | | Football news

Crystal Palace President Steve Parish has blown the challenge to Liam Roberts to Jean -philippe Mateta as “the most modern I have ever seen” – but Millwalla’s head coach Alex Neil did not agree with his assessment.
The incident came in six minutes when Mateta caused a high ball just in front of the area, and Roberts got out of his box, grabbing the head of the attacker with a high boot.
After checking the monitor on the field, Judge Michael Oliver sent Roberts, and Mateta received almost 10 minutes of medical aid on the field before she took off.
He was taken straight to the hospital and said head Crystal Palace Oliver Glasner BBC Sport After the game, that Mateta was aware.
And in a slightly unprecedented step, the parish gave an interview at halftime to talk about the incident that left him angry.
He said, “Behind the ear and the head injury has a bad defel. He is in the hospital and hopefully the best.
“There are a lot of emotions in football, but we have to talk about this challenge. I have never seen a challenge like that … It’s the state of a state -of -the -art challenge on the football field I’ve ever seen.
“He has to look hard for a long time because he threatens a colleague of a professional with such a challenge.
“And why the judge has to go to the screen, I have no idea … If you hit him in your head in full strength, who knows what the damage can do.”
After the game, the head of Millwall played somewhat in the incident, disagreeing that it was one of the worst challenges he saw – but he also admitted that he had yet to see him.
He said, “I don’t think there is intention. Why would it be? It’s the beginning of the game, the ball is put behind and he’s trying to get there.
“I would certainly not designate him as the worst challenge I saw. We don’t want the guy to hurt himself so naturally, we want to do well and hope that he will return to the field soon.
“For me, what was wrong, he sent it, he is disappointed. We want to Mateta well and that’s nothing more than that for me.
“At the time that happened, I didn’t know if he caught a guy or grabbed the ball because the ball seemed to go at a strange angle.
“Unfortunately, [the screens] She did not work on the excavation side, so we couldn’t watch the incident back.
“I haven’t seen him since then, but he mislead it and sent him, which at that stage of the game is twice the game for us. It was disappointing. He called it and didn’t understand it well.”
The injury took off the shine of the Crystal Palace victory for Glasner, and the Eagles are now in Sunday’s quarterfinals.
“We can’t be really happy. Of course, a great victory is a quarterfinals, but when you lose a player with a foul like this, you have two different feelings in your stomach,” he said BBC Sport.
“I’m sure the goalkeeper did not want to injure JP in this situation because no player wants it. But if you go to the ball like this one with the intensity in your head, you just can’t do it because it’s so dangerous. I don’t want to blame him, but it’s a terrible point.
“Going to the quarterfinals FA Cup is a great achievement and now they are crossed with fingers, we hope it is best for JP.”
