IPL 2025 predictions: most six? Champions? Is this last year MS Dhoni? Matt Cabir Floyd brings its choice | Current news

IPL 2024 was one of the most striking seasons ever, especially if you like to watch the ball fly out of the park!
It was a season with the most points (miles) and we saw some sums of eyes to believe. So, will the bowlers bite this year or are we on another season where the shot records break into Smithereens?
We will find out over the next two months and that is what you need to look out for …
What is new?
A lot. It’s the first season after the latest mega auction, so each team has a completely different look. In fact, the unlucky Punjab Kings have only three players from last season!
Half of the teams have new captains and there were some major moves, including Rishabh Panto bought by Lucknow Super Giants for the highest fee ever (£ 2.5 million) and Jos Buttler in the Gujarat Titans.
Punjab was listed by Captain Shreyas Iyer and Mitchell Starc, who will now call Kolhin’s Captain Shreyas Iyer, and Mitchell Starc will now call Delhi.
As usual, there will be some emerging stars that will make your eyes peeled, including the youngest player signed in IPL. If Vaibhav Suryavanshi plays a game for Rajasthan Royals, a media storm will appear … he is only 13 years old!
A playing player?
Abhishek Sharma Sunrizers Hyderabad. Last year, Abhishek and Travis Head prescribed a proper book on how to hit PowerPlay. The end result was some of the most amazing ball shots seen in the history of T20.
Twelve months later, the young Indian left back now has two T20 International hundreds in his name and wants to continue his authority at one of the introductory places in India in front of some very stiff competition.
When the Sunrizers start inserted, make sure you get in a cocoa sofa – enjoy the show!
Englishman to impress?
Phil Sol (Royal Challengers Bangalore). I imagine Will Jacks to show England, which they lacked a strong season for Mumbai, but I will go with salt to make the biggest impression.
He has already had success in the IPL kolkat, cannot be overcome on occasion and should enjoy the small borders at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
English fans may want to be lagging behind RCB again this year – Salt joins Jacob Bethell and Liam Livingstone. They are trained by Andy Flower, and Mo Bobat is the director of the cricket. Maybe you should change the name to the ECB?!
Surprise package?
Delhi Capitals. They missed play-off for three years in a row, but I think they have a good chance for the best four ending this year after looking like a good auction for them.
The panties releasing allowed them to bring KL Rahul for half the price, as well as Starc and Faf du Plexis.
Starc could give them a top -notch edge with the ball they missed last season, while they have one of the best attackers in Axar Patela and Kuldeep Yadav, and the first six looks seriously exciting. As long as the first XI remains relatively fit and Axar is quickly settled as a captain, they will be a threat to anyone.
Who will hit a maximum of sixty?
Heinrich Klaasen (Sunrizers Hyderabad). Abhishek won this recognition last year and as an opener has a great chance to repeat it because he will face many balls, but I want his teammate Klaasen to explode once more.
No country is big enough for him when he enters the eye. As long as he gets enough time on the folds, a few balls will be lost!
Is this last year MS Dhoni?
I hope not! It is so difficult to say with Dhoni because he is a master who holds his cards near his chest. These days only comes for short stone, which could help preserve his body for another season of next year.
One thing is for sure – retirement will be done under his conditions. In the true Dhoni style, there will be some fanfara and we will probably hear that only after he played his last game.
Who will win?
Bearing in mind that I went to Mumbai Indians last year, I may not be the best person I ask!
I think Mumbai will be much stronger this year (even without Jasprit Bumrah for the first few games), but after they burned me in 2024, I can’t go with them anymore.
The Gujarat bought well on auction and seems to have a strong attack on bowling and the best three. If he pushes himself, I’ll go with Sunrizers go one better than last year and raise the trophy.
The bowling attack has been restored and hitting has a similar scary look last season. If they come the bottom, this will be the last time I try to predict the winner!
