ICC destroys PCB at a protest for the ceremony of presentation of the champion trophy; shows them a brutal mirror
The Pakistani Kripket (PCB) board came with another controversy after the 2025 championship trophy was concluded. The tournament host nation filed an official appeal to the global body after their main operational director and director of the tournament, Sumar Ahmed, ignored them during the trophy presentation ceremony.
The 2025 champion trophy was concluded on Sunday (March 9th) with the emergence winners in India after defeating Novi Zealand in the Crket Stadium in Dubai in Dubai in the finals in the finals. Men in Blue beat the opposition of 4 Wickkets to raise their third title in history.

PCB Chairman failed to attend the champion trophy for personal obligations, and instead, the CEO of PCB, Sumair Ahmed, was sent to Dubai. But the global body ignored him and was not invited to the stage during the trophy national team.
However, this did not go well with the PCB and they filed an official appeal. The source close to the development was confirmed by the same on the PTI, saying, “We filed a formal complaint with the ICC because what happened to us is unacceptable.”

The global body, however, came a strong response. The source close to the global body confirmed that there was a protocol, and Sumair was an employee of the PCB, pointing out that the tournament director was not on stage. Explained:
“If Mandarine PCB looks, even the ICC Executive Director Geoff Allardica was not present on stage. The reason is the protocol,” the ICC source said. “Sumair Ahmed is an employee of PCB, not an office holder. Also, check when the tournament director was on stage for a presentation,” the official added.
“We can give an example. The ICC new head of operations and communication, Gaurav Saxen, was once the director of the Asian Cup tournament in Dubai. Was he on stage for the last presentation?”

The answer did not go well with the PCB because they called the global body explanation illogical. The source added that the Committee wants a public apology and the security that such things will not happen in the future. He said:
“The reasons that we do not have our COO -Ai tournament on stage for the final presentation of the final presentation. We are waiting for an official clarification/apology,” said PCB official. “We are confused by this sharp disrespect for the role of Pakistan as the host nation.”
“Givening an explanation that ICC calls only executives, chairwoman, vice -presidents or secretaries to the ceremony is illogical. We want a complete clarification of the public and a guarantee that such a biased and unjust treatment will not repeat or push this issue to the Governor’s Committee.”
