Hearn requires Keyshawn Davis faces Cruz: ‘No other options’ for WBO light champion
Promotor Eddie Hearn says he wants to fight between the undefeated Andy Cruz and WBO’s champion in the lightweight category of Keyshawn Davis. Promotor Matchroom, Hearn, states that Keyshawn (13-0, 9 ko) has no one who is available to him to fight now except his Nemesis, Cruz (5-0, 2 ko).

Keyshawn captured the WBO 135 pound belt last month, knocking out Denys Berinchyka champions in the fourth round of February 14th in Madison Square Garden in New York. Although Davis talked about how the new WBO champion will change his life in the sense that his big fights fall into his lap, as Isaac ‘Pitbull’ CruzIt didn’t happen.
If Top Rank cannot think of a big enough offer to lure Pitbull, there is no popular for an interesting fight for Keyshawn. He may not care. He had never struggled with anyone popular since he turned his professional and spent most of his time talking about what life would be when one day beat Gervont Davis.
Keyshawn does not want to build herself in the fight against thin, face top talents. He just wants the fight to be given a silver tray based on his victories over the lower level fighters.
Andy Cruz fight
The most realistic fight for Keyshawn is Andy Cruz, his four -time conqueror, but he will have to show some courage because he did not want any part of the fight against the talented Cuban since he turned to a professional since he turned his professional in 2023. Cruz invited him from day one without any luck, and he does not respect the fear of fear of fear.
Cruz has been in amateurs four times and realizes that he will never beat him, no matter how big. Keyshawn looks like it will soon be medium weight, because he is huge after rehydrating for his struggles. For his last struggle against the tiny 36-year-old Berinchyka, he reminded the heroic medium weight on the night of the fight.
Poor Berinchyk never had a chance with such a big guy. It is a pity that all four sanctioning bodies do not have a rehydration clause of 10 pounds such as IBF, as it prevents fighters who are opposed to the abusers in weight.
Cruz is ranked #1 WBC, #3 IBF, #3 WBA and #9 WBO. Interestingly, Hearn does not push the champion WBC world category Shakur Stevenson to fight Cruz, but that is understandable. Hearn tries to reconcile the fight of Gervont Davis for Shakur, and the last thing he needs is Andy Cruz to beat him before he is fighting.
Eddie’s pressure
“We want to push Andy Cruz into a big fight. There have been several conversations on a possible fight in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia or the Ring magazine show,” Eddie Hearn said on @cessers. “We would like to make Keyshawn Davis fight. I look at Keyshawn options. Who else is there for him to fight that he is available?
“It’s a great fight,” Hearn said that Floyd Schofield is an option for Andy Cruz. “Schofield missed the fight of Shakur Stevenson. Why not fight Andy Cruz? It’s a great fight. That fight would be in July, but we would like to get it [Cruz] Back a little before.
“Obviously just fought in January [against Omar Salcido]. May or June would be good for Andy, “Hearn said.
Floyd Schofield probably wouldn’t want to fight Andy Cruz because he learned that Shakur Stevenson would eventually watch his way and throw his bone. They will not want to mess their chances of salary against Shakur, fighting Cruz and schooling.
