Female Six Nations: France maintains the second half Irish fight and Scotland Edge Wales | News of rugby

France endured the fight in Ireland in the second half to ask for a 27-15 victory in the introductory match of six women in Belfast 2025.
Visitors led 17-5 at the interval after converted attempts from Gabrielle Vernier and Marine Menager, but a red card from the 45th minute for the ex gave an Irish return to the competition at Kingspan Stadium.
Ireland quickly gave numerous advantages because Neve Jones and Aoife Wafer – with her second attempt at the match – helped to reduce the deficit to 17-15, but that was as close as the hosts received, and the late result of Emilie Boulard ultimately awarded France’s victory.
In the fight between the teams that ended the second and third behind the champions of England last year, France’s runners made their early pressure when the Vernier Center celebrated its 50th cap, crossing from close range.
France doubled its advantage when Morgane Bourgeois selflessly slid to Menager to help make 14-0, but Ireland embarked on the table when Wafer crossed in the 21st minute.
Punishment of the bourgeoisie, as Les Bleues extended the lead further before the break, but the second half from Vernier, who saw a yellow card upgraded in red to the head contact on Eva Higgins, Ireland used that Jonesov tried after cutting the pods of up to seven.
Ireland set up a panel as Wafer punished France in the corner for her second attempt at the match, but the late bourgeois sentence and Boulard’s attempt ended in hopes in the house.
Scotland fights next to Wales
Scotland opened its campaign by winning 24-21 over Wales at HIVE stadium in Edinburgh.
The converted attempt by Carys Phillips in the fourth minute was given by Wales – who finished the bottom of the competition last season – flying the beginning of a new campaign.
But Helen Nelson received Scotland on the board with a penalty of the 16th minute, and she also turned the attempt Sarah Bonar in the 35th minute, while the hosts gathered to enter a fracture leading 10-7.
Emma Orr crossed three minutes after a break to extend Scotland’s lead, Nelson added supplements, before Wales was reduced to 14 players when the number eight Georgia Evans was shown a red card after receiving another yellow for high accessories.
The numerical advantage of Scotland lasted only three minutes, however, after their Evie Gallagher number eight saw her yellow card for a dangerously purely torn to red after the examination.
Wales added two more converted attempts through Abbie Fleming and Gwenllian Pyrs to keep themselves in a quarrel during the heavy second half, but Leah Bartlett clarified between them to ensure that Scotland was holding the nose in front.
