“I used to tell people when I was in Detroit, we were pretty good, man. We won 21 in a row. We beat Marquette. We were national champions of the year the year we won them on their field. We beat Arizona. We beat some good teams,” said Vitale.
“We had some four NBA players who were in my program. When I think about Terry Tyler, John Long was sitting, but these guys would be more. They would go to Michigan, the state of Michigan, Indiana. They would leave because we could never have dollars to pay them. So, I think we really had a big problem. “
