The state envoy of Maine, Laurel Libby, a Republican, says he has no intention of taking his place on social networks about a biological man competing in a woman’s sport, despite being censored by state legislation for rejection of apology.
Democratic majority in Maine House passed the resolution of censorship On Tuesday night at 75-70 votes after Libby refused to apologize for posting a picture of a high school transgender athlete who won the National Championship in the Women’s Platoon last week, but competed in a male division last year. As a result of censorship, Libby is no longer allowed to speak on the floor of the house or vote.
“At the moment, I am exploring options because I do not believe this is censoring constitutionally,” Libby told Fox News Digital. “I will not apologize for telling the truth and because of the speech for Maine Girls … there will still be that we explore these opportunities.”

Although Libby would not reveal specific details about her plans to find the way around her censorship without an apology or takeover her place, Libby said she intended to “use” to the fact that the Republicans lost only the opportunity to return the majority in Maine’s home for only 60 votes in November. Since 2019, the legislation of Maine, as well as the Governor’s Office, occupied Democrats.
“This sets an incredibly dangerous precedent that anyone could silence for a post on social media,” Libby said on Wednesday. “It is a terrible way to descend and therefore consider all the possibilities, because it cannot allow it to stop.”
