(Reuters) – Nissan Makoto Uchida CEO is under depth of pressure due to the impaired of the performance of the Japanese car manufacturer, and the members of the Committee should gather on March 11 to discuss potential heirs, said people who are familiar with the issue.
If Uchida came out, his replacement would become a fourth person who led the car manufacturer in just under six years, reflecting a sign of managerial unrest that Nissan scored after the overthrow of his former Chairman Carlos Ghosna.
The following people are seen as potential candidates for the success of Uchida, according to Japanese media reports and people who are familiar with this question:
Jeremie Pope
Papin is Nissan’s Chief Financial Director, appointed a role in January. Previously, he was chairman of the American Management Board, where he was also responsible for Nissan brands and luxury Infiniti across America. Before joining Nissan in 2018, an American and French citizen held various roles in Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Renault. He also worked as a financial analyst specializing in the European Car Sector at Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers and Nomur.
Ivan Espinosa
Espinosa was appointed Chief Planning Director in April 2024 as part of a higher Shake-up management in order to accelerate Nissan’s turn in electric vehicles. Nissan joined in 2003 and spent most of his career in Mexico. His experience involves positions in Southeast Asia and Europe. Espinosa monitored the initiatives for planning and development of products and managed the global strategy and portfolio of car manufacturers.
Guillaume Cartier
The thirty -year -old veteran was appointed Chief Performance Officer in December, expanding his role, continuing to monitor many regions, including America, Japan, Africa, Middle East, India and Europe, as well as global sales and sales. Carder based in Paris, who speaks French and English, was first joined by Nissan in 1995 as a manager after sale. He also worked for the Nissan partner for the younger Mitsubishi Motors.
Jun Seki
Since the beginning of 2023, Seki performed the duty of the chief director of the electric vehicle’s business in the Taiwanese Foxconn. He joined Nissan in 1986 and raised himself through the ranks and at one point led his Chinese surgery. He was widely considered a candidate for the executive job, but lost in the current Uchida CEO in 2019. Two years later, he stepped down from Nidec to take responsibility for the weakening of earnings. Seki domestic media mentioned as a potential heir if Nissan binds to Honda, Foxconn and Mitsubishi Motors with a four -way agreement.
