Denver Broncos: A team lets Linebackers after arrest

AND Denver Broncos They split with midfielder Michael Wilhoite on Wednesday after the arrest of assistants at the airport last month.

“After a thorough discussion as an organization, I met with Michael Wilhoite and informed him that we decided to separate ways,” Payton said, Payton, via ESPN. “We recognize the serious nature of the charges against him and we believe that this is the best course of action at the moment. I appreciate Michael’s contribution to Broncos and I am convinced that he will move forward in a positive direction.”
Wilhoite was arrested on February 2nd on February on a second -degree attack on a peace officer, prison data showed.
Wilhoite left his car unattended for a while, and a police officer at the airport approached him and told him he couldn’t do it, Reported to the KDVR-TVquoting a statement of a probable cause. He allegedly explicitly told the officer to shut up.
After telling him again that the car had left unattended, Wilhoite allegedly approached the officer in a “aggressive way and ran into his chest into the victim, which made him step back.”

Wilhoite was pushed before he allegedly hit an officer in the face. His next court date is March 10th.
Wilhoite was an unprecedented free agent from Washburn when in 2012 he got his first taste of NFL San Francisco 49ers. He played for 49ers through the 2016 season.
He signed with Seattle Seahawks in 2017 and played only a year for them.
Wilhoite set up his sights on the NFL coaching ranks in 2019, when he signed as an assistant to special teams with New Orleans Saints on Sean Payton’s staff. He was at the then Los Angeles Chargers’ Staff 2021, and their midfielder coach. He was released after the 2022 season.
In 2023 he re -joined Payton, but with Broncos.
Broncos moved from the team at the bottom of the league in the points and yards allowed in 2023 to one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2024 – he finished third in the permissible points and on seventh permission.
