Air owner confronted with pressure to sell team in the middle of the stadium: report

Tampa owner Bay Rays Stay Sternberg is reportedly confronted with increased pressure to sell franchise from the Commissioner of MLB of Rob Manfred and other owners, they state Athletic.
MLB could even try to take away part of the revenue from the Rays’ revenue division to try to force sale, according to a report. The rays currently receive $ 60 million in revenue divisions. The reported reason for the pressure is associated with Sternberg with respect to giving up on a Stadium Agreement.

By the end of this month, Sternberg decided whether to continue with a new stadium agreement in the historic gas district in the center of St. Petersburg, Florida.
The rays have been trying to build a new stadium for 17 years, and the urgency to solve the problem has grown last fall after Hurricane Milton broke the roof of his current place Tropicana Field. The team should play its 2025. Home games in spring training of New York Yankees rivals.

Rays and Sternberg previously planned to contribute $ 700 million to the new stadium. However, delayed vote of the county has led to retention under construction and therefore increased costs, so Sternberg does not believe that he and his team should cover subsequent costs.
The Pinellas district commission delayed the vote on its share of new stadium bonds in November, leaving the project in Limbo.
Potential candidates to buy air if Sternberg is pushed for sale includes former Yankees’ owner Joe Molloy.
