Uniphus Peaceful Man injured while a convoy attacked in Lebanon

The Peace Forces of the United Nations in Lebanon says that his departure commander was injured after one of his convoys was “violently attacked”.

The UN temporary force said Libanon (Unifif) in a statement that the convoy took the peace forces to Beirut Airport when he was targeted and one of his vehicles on fire.

The mission requested a “full and immediate” investigation into the Lebanese authorities.

Several videos shared an internet display of one white UN vehicle, as a group of young men, carrying yellow flags, persecution and winning what seems to be pensioners while trying to escape.

Separate shots show a group of men shouting while hitting, hitting and climbing on a convoy of three UN vehicles along the dark road.

Unifr’s injured deputy commander, who was not appointed, returned home after completing his mission, the statement said.

“We are shocked by this incredible attack on peace troops that have served in a difficult time to restore safety and stability to South Lebanon,” he added.

“Attacks on peacekeeping forces are a rough violation of international law and can amount to war crimes. We require a complete and immediate investigation into the Lebanese authorities and that all the perpetrators are made in justice.

Unifr was created to monitor the tampon of the zone created near the border with Israel after the end of the 2006 war in Lebanon, and has posts throughout South Lebanon.
