Arne Slot says he would be “surprised” if Trent Alexander-Arnold was presented at Liverpool’s semi-final leg Carabao Cup against Tottenham, live on Sky Sports, after being injured against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Alexander-Arnold was forced with muscle injury during the second half of Liverpool’s victory of 2-0 at Vitality Stadium.
Host Liverpool Tottenham on Thursday, wanting to cancel the first leg deficit of 1-0.
Speaking at his press conference after the match, Slot said, “He (Trent) asked me if he could come down and then he came down.
“He felt something, I can’t tell you exactly what it is because it’s just an hour after it happened, but it’s never a good sign to see if a player is looking for a replacement.
“I would be surprised if he plays on Thursday, but hopefully he will come back as soon as possible.”
Mo Salah Double secured Liverpool strengthened his place at the top of the Premier League table, opening a nine -point gap on Summit.
“It was a game we expected,” Slot added. “They (Bournemouth) are so intense, they keep running and keep fighting every second. I said before the game, we were 3-0 on Anfield at halftime and continued to go. We had to play on top of our ability and the good luck to win in to this game.
“They hit the tape twice or fasting and constantly trying to force things. They had other chances, and I think we didn’t really control the game. It was open, and even the game that everyone here has because all the teams are fighting here .
