Celtic they are now looking to sign the exciting young striker who is being chased by teams in England and Europe, according to a recent report.

The Turkish international has struggled for regular playing time since joining the Red Devils, and with his desire to play more football and United open to the idea of a sale, a move could be on the cards this month. The list doesn’t stop there for the Hoops, as according to The Sun, Celtic are interested in signing wonderkid Mason Melio this month, but face stiff competition from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
17-year-old girl, who was labeled as one of the “the most exciting talents” who came from the Republic of Ireland in recent years, currently plays for St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland. The forward joined the club’s academy in 2022 from the Bray academy, and was promoted to the first team in April 2023, where he excelled.
The young forward could now leave the Irish side this month, with Celtic one of the teams interested in signing him. However, they are not alone in their pursuit, as several teams across Europe have shown interest, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Genk. Tottenham are also interested in Melio, with Spurs reportedly the player said to be most keen to come.
The Premier League side saw a £1million bid for the striker last month, and with personal terms not expected to be an issue, Spurs are weighing up whether to complete the transfer with a higher offer this month. Celtic did not give up on signing a contract with Melia, because the club sees him as a possible future star.
Indeed, last year the attacker became the youngest scorer in the history of the League of Ireland, and it is said that he caught the eye in the playoffs of St. Patrick’s Conference League against Istanbul Basaksehir in August.
