The auction of Tamil Nada Premier League (TNPL) 2025, held on February 15 in Chennai, marked an intense competition and significant acquisition of players. Among the purchases were versatile Vijay Shankar and Pacer Mohammed mThey both attracted significant offerings of franchise eager to reinforce their detachment for the upcoming season.
Distinguished auctions of TNPL 2025
The auction of the TNPL 2025 has shown the increasing popularity and competitiveness of the league, and the franchises are strategically building their detachments. The event was characterized by aggressive tender wars because teams sought to provide experienced players and talents in the emergence.
The franchises had an auction bag of 80 lakh, which allowed them to invest in a mixture of experienced campaigns and promising newcomers. This year’s auction is expected to increase the level of competition in the league, which has been constantly gaining attraction since its inception in 2016.
Retained players
Before the auction, several key players retained their franchise, providing a strong core for the upcoming season. Significant detention involved Ravicharndran Ashwin and Varun Chakravarthy (both with Dindigul Dragons), Shahrukh Khan and Sai Sudharsan (Lyca Kovai Kings) and Captain Tamil Hope R Sai Kishore (Tiruppur tamizhans).
Top Buyys on auction TNPL 2025
Mohammed M: Pacer with his right hand became the highest auction purchase, going to Salem Spartanci for 18.40 lakh. His ability to come under pressure makes him precious assets for the team.
Vijay Shankar: An experienced versatile player secured Chepauk Super Gillies for ₹ 18 lakh. Shankar will make him a twin and ball with a key player for his new franchise.
U. Mukilesh: The second noted acquisition was Mukilesh, who was bought by Trichy Grand Cholas for 17.6 lakh, emphasizing his growing reputation as a dough of the highest order.
