Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk says it will also be difficult to beat Everton in his “Cup final”.

Referring to the game, Van Dijk admitted that it was a difficult night, but Everton will always be difficult in what he called their biggest match in the season.
He said, “Intense, it will always be intense. A lot of battles. Very disappointing to admit at the last second of the game, or even more time, but that is what it is. It is not easy to accept, especially the way we take it and we take it further.
“I think the referee today played a big role in the game in terms of certain challenges given as offenses and the like were not. In the end, it’s just disappointing to admit a very good strike, but disappointing.
“This is their finals and they would try to do everything in their power to make it difficult for us. It’s a big boost for them, but a blow for us.
“We have a lot of games to the international break. We put ourselves in a very good position and that is until hard work, quality and consistency. We just have to look at ourselves, not watch what others do, just try to focus on ourselves and be the best version of ourselves.
“We put ourselves in a good position, let’s move on.”
Van Dijk also commented on the crowd between Jones and Doucoure, once again pointing his finger at the Oliver judge.
He added: “We saw how they celebrated their goal, they have all the right to.
“I think Abdoulaye Doucoure wanted to provoke our fans, I think I saw it, and Curtis Jones didn’t think it was right. And then you know what’s going on if there was a little course.
“I didn’t think the referee had a game under control. Both teams had to deal with it.”
