The Committee of the US House of Representatives sounded an alarm because of the Chinese plan to build a huge Embassy in London, saying that the project caused “significant security problems” for the UK financial services industry.
“Mega-embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the UK expresses significant security problems: from interference and supervision to risk for sensitive infrastructure such as London financial services,” wrote on x.
“We need to solve this question urgently and work with our allies for the protection of national security,” added the committee chaired by John Moolenar, a Republican Congressman of Michigan.
