The judge blocks the access to the Musk team access to records of the Treasury Department
The federal judge blocked Elona Musk’s Ministry of Government Efficiency (Doge) to access personal financial data of millions of Americans in the Ministry of Finance records, according to court documents.
US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary ban on Saturday to ban access, ordering a male and his team to destroy all copies of the record immediately.
The move comes after 19 Attorney General sued Trump’s administration after Doge, the initiative to reduce the costs led by Musk, was accessed by the records.
They claimed access to a male, a “special government employee”, and Doge, who is not the official government department, violated the Federal Law.
There was no direct comment from the White House, President Donald Trump or Male.
State Attorney General sued Trump on Friday, the Ministry of Finance and Scott’s Scott’s Minister of Scotta Bessent.
An Engelmayer command, published early on Saturday, said the states would “face an irreparable” damage without current relief.
“This is also because of the risk that the new policy is a detection of sensitive and confidential information and increased risk that the systems in question will be more vulnerable than before hacking,” the command states.
The command restrains the accused of approves access to the records of the Treasury Department containing personal recognizable or confidential information to special government employees, political named and other employees outside the department.
The prohibition limits anyone else to approach those records except for civil servants who need to do so for their work in the bureau for fiscal services and has undergone background checks.
The judge further ordered any person among those who are limited to destroy the copy of the record immediately.
The conditions will remain in effect until the next court hearing on February 14th.
Tech Titan and billionaire Musk have strongly participated in a turnaround during Trump’s second term, and Doge is leading the main cuts on US International Development Agency (USAID)which distributes billions of dollars to help globally.
